Michael is a Falkland Islander and has spent most of his life in the Islands. He studied Business & Management at undergraduate level and is currently completing an MBA from Warwick University,UK.

After working in telecommunications in London and Guernsey for 4 years, he began as work as Senior Economist for the Falkland Islands Government. This role involved policy and economic advice to the elected officials. He then spent two and half years as Hospital Manager at the local King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Stanley.

After four years as a civil servant, in early 2013 he took up his role as Executive Secretary to the Falkland Islands Fishing Companies Association (FIFCA). In this role he gained a good oversight of the industry of a whole and an appreciation of the importance of sustainable economic development.

His interests are both local and international sport, in particular Liverpool FC. He likes to read widely and enjoys US TV dramas.
