The National Minimum Wage (MW) is the minimum pay per hour for workers who have a contract with their employer (either verbal or in writing) are entitled to by law.

The Falkland Islands Government Taxation Office has the role of providing information on MW.  Information leaflets are produced annually for employers and employees which explain details such as who is entitled to the MW, what counts as pay and what to do if an employer is not paying the MW etc.  Please see the relevant leaflet for further information.

The MW rate for 2017 is £5.81 per hour and increases to £6.58 as from 1 January 2018.
