Service charge invoices are raised annually for each domestic property in Stanley at the beginning of July. The charge covers the provision of water, refuse collections and community services for the upcoming financial year (1st July - 30th June).

Invoices may be paid either:

  • in a single amount on or before the end of September
  • in twelve monthly instalments

Payments may be made:

  • through the bank (either via a single payment or monthly standing order)
  • by visiting the Treasury and making a single payment
  • for FIG employees, by a monthly deduction from your salary.

When a new property in Stanley is completed and has passed all inspections by the Building Adviser, an occupation certificate will be sent to the Treasury. PWD will then be notified to deliver a refuse bin to the property. The service charge for the new property will be charged pro rata from the date of the occupation certificate until the end of the financial year.

If you are currently settling your Annual Service Charge through a monthly standing order with Standard Chartered Bank, there will be no need to update the Treasury or to amend this instruction. However, if the standard rates for Service Charge increase or decreases please ensure that you amend your payment/s accordingly.
