Dr. Daryl Parkyn

Background & Qualifications

Dr. Daryl Parkyn  received his B.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Alberta, In Edmonton, Canada and Ph.D. in Biology examining Salmonid Physiology and Behaviour from the University of Victoria , British Columbia, Canada.  Prior to his present appointment, he conducted research and taught as a Research Associate Professor of Fish Behaviour and Physiology in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences at the University of Florida for 20 years.  His expertise is in Population Biology of Fishes, with interests in Movements of Fishes, Age Determination, By-catch, Release Mortality, and Sensory Biology.  He is an avid SCUBA diver, fly fisher, and enjoys illustration and painting.
