Executive Management - Administrative Assistant

To provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Chief Executive’s Office and the wider Secretariat. This post has been created as a succession planned role which would either suit either an enthusiastic school leaver looking to start a career within Government or a more seasoned administrator looking for a new challenge. Essential criteria for both levels of roles include GCSE Grades A-C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, a high level computer literacy (i.e. fully competent in MS Office packages), and the ability to take a methodical approach to work whilst maintaining attention to detail. The Grade F role essential requirements include a minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience.

Royal Falkland Islands Police - Reserve Police Constable

FIGAS - Aviation Fire Fighter

The successful applicant must have an academic background that demonstrates the ability to cope with further training & study in the UK & FI and a full driving license, (an HGV licence would be an advantage but is not essential). The selection procedure will include a physical fitness assessment, written tests and an interview.

FICS - Learning Support Assistant

We are looking for full time LSA to work Mon-Fri 08.00 – 16.30 for the secondary school. The posts involve supporting and assisting students with their educational and social progress and helping develop their learning and understanding. Essential Criteria for the role include evidence of a good level of literacy and numeracy ie GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent), in English and Maths, an ability to prioritise tasks and use initiative and a capacity to work with children with behavioural and emotional needs in order to improve their social skills. Applicants must also have patience, flexibility, the ability to prioritise tasks and be competent at delivering instructions.

Public Works Department - Cemetery Caretaker/Plant Operator Handyperson

Health & Social Services Dept - Young Person’s Unit – Team Leader

To manage the provision of residential care services for young people and provide community outreach for young adults with learning disabilities who live in the community. The post holder will also be responsible for providing leadership, supervision and support to staff on a day to day basis which will involve regular liaison with all necessary professionals and families.  Essential criteria for the role include an NVQ Level 4 in Social Care or other relevant subject area, over 5 years’ experience of working with children and or adults in a residential setting and a manual driving licence.

Health & Social Services Department - Pandemic Coordinator

To continue to manage the procedures associated with Quarantine, test, tracing and surveillance we are looking for individuals to part time who have enthusiasm and commitment to provide logistical, administrative and practical support to the PCR/lateral flow testing service.

Candidates must have at least 5 years administration experience and excellent organisational and communication skills as the role involves communication with the general public, agencies and organisations both internal and external to the Falkland Islands.  The role requires hours to be worked across a 7 day week on a rota basis in order to maintain the timescales for PCR swabbing associated with the quarantine and surveillance testing guidance.  There will be a requirement following the necessary training for the postholder to perform PCR and lateral flow swabbing. You will be required to work 30 hours per week. Additional hours maybe required.
